Get inspired and get creating!  We have devised a series of masterclasses designed to inspire and guide you to make something.  From sculpting to crochet, text art to cartoons - there’s something for everyone.

Masterclass 6: Pop Art with Ed ‘Opake’ Worley

Ed, aka “Opake,  is known for his re-working of iconic cartoon characters such as Mickey Mouse and Pink Panther.   Using intricate replications of a well known image, he shares the techniques and benefits of repetition as a way of not only creating a piece of art, but also focussing your mind and being present.  You can choose your favourite cartoon icon and use his techniques to create something new and exciting of your own.

Masterclass 5: Sculpting with Jack Durling

Jack is a ceramicist who makes sculptures of animals which are often endangered species.  His work allows him to switch off and focus, finding it a great way to reduce anxiety.  He has created a version of his ceramic process using everyday materials - just newspaper, tape and paints - to create your own sculpture of a chosen animal without the need for clay or a kiln.   

Masterclass 4: Jade Montserrat

Jade is a visual artist whose work on paper includes both figurative and text art.  Taking inspiration from phrases from mediums such as film, books and song lyrics, she works them into a new form by splicing and editing them to create new works.  Her tutorial shows you how to use the power of words as the focus of a piece of art which can utilise words and phrases you notice from all around you. 


Masterclass 3: Text Art with Gary Mansfield

Gary’s art practice is heavily influenced by his own personal experience of the prison system.  That was where he first discovered the transformational power art can have over how we view ourselves, are viewed by others and our possibilities.  His tutorial shares an intricate, reflective and deeply personal way to express your feelings with words, turn them into an image and explore possible solutions to challenges you face.  A very accessible introduction to using text and art.

Masterclass 2 : Crochet Craft and tranquility with Stevie Georgina

Stevie Georgina is passionate about crochet and yarn!  She found her love for the craft back in 2018, when she took up crochet classes - inspired by the brightly coloured yarns caught her eye in a local shop.

Stevie shares her crochet tips, knowledge and projects on social media, together with the benefits it brings to her own wellbeing. And now you can follow along in this tutorial, as she shows you the essential building blocks of crochet - from creating a slipknot, to chaining and then moving onto making a granny square.  It’s a great way to focus, relax and be present, so take your time building your skills in this calming and cheery craft suitable for all ages.

Masterclass 1 : Doodle Art with Seb Dewing

Seb Dewing is an experienced artist and art teacher, whose workshops and classes aim to inspire children and young people develop their creative skills. 

 Find out how "doodle-art" can help you to relax, engage your imagination and embrace surrealism to create unique characters from a simple scribble.

Perfect for complete beginners, through to those who love art, but want to take the pressure out of producing the perfect work of art and simply enjoy the process!
